A secure, collaborative resource for pathogen genomics data sharing and analysis for researchers and public health professionals across Arizona
What is APGAP?
The Arizona Pathogen Genomics Analytics Platform is a shared resource for pathogen genomics data sharing and analysis for users across the state of Arizona. It was built with steering from Arizona’s three state universities, TGen North, and the state health department.
The platform supports work with diverse pathogen types — including viral, bacterial, and fungal pathogens — from diverse sources, including:
Environmental samples
Companion animals
Anonymized clinical samples
Vectors

Secure and private
The platform does not store any personally identifiable information or protected health information. All sequences are scanned for human genomic fragments during upload and if any are detected, they are masked before moving into storage in the platform.
Unlike well-known repositories such as NCBI SRA or GISAID, users have control over data sharing access. This enables users to share pathogen genomes with public health while a researcher is continuing to develop research products, restricting broader access until after publication.
How to get access
This platform is primarily intended for researchers and public health professionals. However, anyone can request access.
Please note there is a cost associated with the platform to support Google Cloud resources and Seqera license.
